About Jonathan M. Passner, Ph.D.

Jonathan is a Senior Associate in the Life Sciences Group of PCZL’s New York office.  His practice focuses on patent matters in the biotechnology, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries.  Jonathan has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patents; managing and counseling clients on their patent portfolios; preparing freedom to operate, patentability, and invalidity opinions; as well as conducting due diligences for million dollar to multi-billion dollar transactions.  Jonathan has also been involved in patent litigation, representing both small and large companies. 

Prior to joining PCZL, Jonathan was an associate in the life sciences practice group at Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo PC.

While earning his A.B. in Physics, Jonathan was a Garden State Distinguished Scholar and was elected a member of Sigma Xi.  Jonathan earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Thomas Steitz, Ph.D.  He then conducted research as a postdoctoral fellow at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he was awarded a Special Fellowship from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  While earning his J.D., Jonathan was an associate editor of the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal.
